House Woller does not permit parents from providing their lagotto with a combination vaccine over 6.

Providing your lagotto a combination vaccine over "6" voids your medical warranty.

In order to avoid a vaccine interaction we recommend providing all vaccines on separate days.

We also recommend that the optional vaccines of lepto and lyme are given two weeks apart.

All of our puppy moms receive a nomograph two weeks prior to giving birth by Dr. Laurie Larson at the University of Wisconsin. The nomograph helps us at House Woller understand the level of maternal immunity that is being passed from our moms to our puppies. The nomograph also helps us predict the optimal time to provide the puppy with vaccines.

Using the information that we receive from our nomograph, and Dr. Larson's recommendations, all of our puppies generally receive the NeoPar vaccine between 35 and 42 days old. Our puppies generally receive the NeoVac vaccine between 42 and 49 days old. At eight weeks old our puppies see our veterinarian for their health certificates. During this appointment our veterinarian provides our puppies with the DAPP vaccine and bordetella vaccine. Due to the possibility of the DAPP vaccine causing temporary immunosuppression in your puppy, we keep puppies at House Woller for three days after their 8 week shots.  It is your responsibility to continue with the recommended vaccine schedule for your puppy, but most importantly to titer test you puppy at 20 weeks.

House Woller has a very strict vaccine and biosecurity regiment. We have been working with a veterinary   immunologist and biosecurity specialist for years. This relationship has afforded House Woller to have a very clinical understanding of vaccines and how they work in both puppies and adult dogs.

Did you know that a fully vaccinated dog can still contract and die of Parvovirus or Distemper? It's true. There are many reasons for this to happen but one of the most common reason is that the maternal antibodies that has been passed onto the puppy from the mother was still present during the vaccine. If there are maternal antibodies present in your puppy when the vaccine is given, the vaccine is blocked. Most canine vaccines will not protect your puppy until after the maternal immunity has dissipated from the puppy.

In most cases, maternal immunity has dissipated by the time the puppy receives their last vaccine at 16 weeks and puppies are protected, but how do you know if your puppy is the one that has vaccine failure? We have had some of our puppies have maternal antibodies for up to 20 weeks post whelp. House Woller has a mandatory titer testing program that our puppy parents must follow in order to ensure that your puppy has protection against the most fatal puppy illnesses (parvovirus and distemper).
